Devotio

This exhibition examines saintly figures in Flemish painting of the 16th and 17th centuries, showing how sacred art once served as a shared visual language across a fragmented Christian Europe. Through attributes, garments, objects, gestures, animals, light, and texture, viewers learn to read the identities and stories of saints such as Christopher, Jerome, Barbara, and Mary Magdalene. The exhibition also reveals how the painting itself speaks through beauty and symbolism, inviting close looking at the visual codes that shaped devotion and meaning.

Opening: (AVV) 5 November, 16:00
