Carte Blanche Collectif Les Attitudes

Collectif Les Attitudes returns with a compact, provocative evening combining punk, experimental music and performance. Artists Montserrat Mayor and Agath de Limoge reconvene as a sharp, often ironic duo exploring the body, relationships and everyday poetics. Étienne Froidvaud navigates modular synths, trumpet and percussion to create deep, enveloping soundscapes. Béatrice Graf mixes physical action and pointed words, while GEJITO and Coolschnock push textures between song, ambient and transgressive performance.

Two short plays by Anton Chekhov staged by Tibor Ockenfels and Flavie Tapparel, presented as compact dramatic machines where romantic comedy masks escalating confrontations between desire, affection and material interest. Performances rely on precise physical timing, terse exchanges and a lean, playful design to reveal the simmering violence behind courtship rituals. The three actors — Estelle Bridet, Matteo Prandi and Raphaël Vachoux — inhabit heightened character types that shift between farce and darker comic truth, creating a sharply observed, kinetic evening.

For his final production as a theatre director, Jean Liermier revisits Tennessee Williams’s autobiographical classic about memory, longing and family. Set in the 1930s American South, the staging gathers a company around Laura, here embodied by Aurélia Thierrée, with Cyprien Colombo, David Gobet and Clotilde Mollet completing the ensemble. Liermier’s direction emphasises fragile interiors and poetic movement, offering a liberating, weightless atmosphere that balances tenderness and uneasy nostalgia.

Led by conductor Frédéric Théodoloz, the Brass Band Arquebuse Genève presents a benefit programme juxtaposing the sombre textures of Shostakovich with Mendelssohn’s lyrical clarity, featuring soloist Kevin Buchard, and the pictorial sweep of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. The band’s brass sonorities and precise rhythmic drive transform orchestral colours into a vivid soundscape, alternating intimate murmurs and brilliant fanfares. The evening unfolds as a cinematic journey, balancing muscular power with moments of surprising intimacy. Concert in favor of diabète genève.

Adapted from the score of Kurt Weill and text by Bertolt Brecht, this condensed staging presents Véronique Valdès (mezzo-soprano), Françoise Courvoisier (narrator) and Nicolas Le Roy (piano) in a tense, music-theatre portrait of exile and commerce. Two sisters named Anna traverse an America at once real and imagined, probing the divide between performance and personhood. The text is concise and often provocative; the score remains intoxicatingly beautiful, its haunting melodies framed here by a focused chamber staging. Presented by Les Amis musiquethéâtre.
