ARMATURA — Konstantina Krikzoni

London-based artist Konstantina Krikzoni presents a body of paintings born from an intense solitary studio practice. Her work blurs painting and sculpture: textured, tactile canvases where brushwork and sculptural modelling interweave. Silent yet confrontational female figures occupy compositions in grey and yellow, evoking funerary motifs and the logic of memory and grief. ARMATURA functions as metaphor and method — an internal armature of endurance that shapes emotion into form through material exploration and sustained process.

Carlos Schwabe’s retrospective traces the symbolism and pictorial imagination that defined his practice. Trained in Geneva, Schwabe is celebrated for evocative book illustrations and ambitious pictorial compositions that blend allegory, myth and musical ideas. The exhibition presents paintings, illustrations and preparatory drawings drawn from public and private Swiss and French collections, exploring technique, materiality and the spiritual and literary currents that shaped his visual language around the turn of the twentieth century.

11 – 29 March

Artisans from the Label Genève association present a group exhibition of urban works that bridges contemporary creation, craftsmanship, and technological innovation. The show brings together individual and collective pieces—furniture, objects and site-responsive interventions—that combine traditional techniques, material research and digital processes. Grounded in New Bauhaus principles of sustainability, circularity and interdisciplinarity, the works reveal demanding creative approaches, highlighting artisanal labour, experimental materials and dialogues between handmaking and technological evolution.

18 February – 23 December

Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s herbarium, compiled in the 1770s for the printer-bookseller Charles-Joseph Panckoucke, is presented through preserved pressed specimens, its original catalogue and related botanical publications. The historical collection combines scientific observation and aesthetic arrangement, revealing Enlightenment approaches to collecting, classification and the popularisation of plant study. Detailed notes and annotations illuminate Rousseau’s techniques and the materiality of specimens, inviting reflection on how personal curiosity and scholarly networks shaped early modern natural history.

13 March – 25 April

Mitja Tušek presents two recent groups of paintings that probe the materiality of painting, the instability of the image and the fragility of identity. One series assembles clusters of faces emerging from dense pictorial fields; each face is built from nine black circles forming a compact pictorial ecosystem. The works emphasise surface, repetition and a sculptural use of paint. Tušek (b. 1961, Maribor) studied in Geneva and is based in Brussels; his work has been shown internationally since the 1990s and is held in major public collections.

Opening during the Nuit de Bains on Thursday 12 March at 18:00.

12 – 25 March

Eight artists — Fernando de la Rocque, Jean Marie Fahy, Dara Maillard, Lyz Parayzo, Wes Roque, Almeida da Silva, Vivianne Van Singer and Martin Widmer — examine paper as a deliberate field of possibility. Treating sheets as material and gesture, they deploy drawing, cutting, layering and mark‑making to activate intimacy, fragility and resilience. The works reclaim paper as presence rather than support, exploring immediacy, vulnerability and the poetic potential of minimal means.

Opening during the Nuit des Bains, Thursday 12 March, 18:00.

8 February – 26 April

This thematic exhibition examines how street-name plaques conceal biographies, choices and memories that shape Carouge’s identity. It highlights figures commemorated in the urban fabric—political actors, artists and local personalities—through photographs, archival documents and works from the museum collection.
Combining historical records and visual materials, the show reconstructs the city’s transformations and collective memory, questioning how naming practices inscribe social values and local histories into everyday streetscapes.
