Anna Webber leads the Simple Trio — with John Hollenbeck on drums and Matt Mitchell on piano — in a concentrated exploration of improvisation and composition. The group’s collective interplay shifts between acute rhythmic propulsion, intricate unison passages and shimmering timbral textures. Their fourth album, simpletrio2000, marks a decade of collaboration and extends the ensemble’s signature blend of precision and spontaneous intensity, delivering moments that are as razor-sharp as they are evocative.
