1 – 31 October

JazzContreBand celebrates its 30th anniversary with a new creation led by trumpeter Erik Truffaz. Franco‑Swiss musicians join forces with the Orchestre des Alpes et du Léman in Side by Side, a programme that blends classical writing, jazz phrasing and open-ended improvisation. The project explores textural contrasts, orchestral colours and solo interplay, shifting from intimate chamber passages to wide, cinematic swells. Expect nuanced dynamics, luminous timbres and collaborative dialogue across genres.

1 – 10 October

Animatou is the leading animation film festival in French-speaking Switzerland, dedicated to showcasing the best of contemporary animated cinema and championing bold, author-driven works that rarely find space in traditional theatres. Both locally rooted and internationally recognised, the festival brings together generations, cultures and sensibilities through a rich programme of competitive short films, special screenings, feature films, retrospectives, workshops and masterclasses. With a strong commitment to education and year-round activities for schools and the wider public, Animatou has become a key platform for animation in Geneva and beyond.

An opening-night parcours conceived within Festival Electron, BAR TO BAR assembles sixteen artists and collectives from Grand Genève into a roaming electronic circuit across the city. Each bar functions as a musical node with its own sonic identity, while artists generate contrasting textures that pulse through the crowd. An interactive map frames the route as an artwork, shaping the nocturnal flow and revealing connections between scenes. The project emphasises collaboration, shared authorship and the civic resonance of local electronic culture.

2 – 24 October

Electron Festival is one of Europe’s leading festivals dedicated to electronic culture, bringing together pioneering artists, musicians, visual creators, researchers, and audiences through an ambitious multidisciplinary programme. Exploring the intersections of electronic music, digital arts, audiovisual performance, technology, and club culture, the festival offers immersive concerts, live performances, exhibitions, workshops, talks, and participatory experiences that celebrate both artistic innovation and experimentation.

3 – 8 October

Democracy Week brings together public conversations, panels and cultural events to examine contemporary challenges facing democratic societies. The programme explores trust in media, political polarization, academic freedom, civic engagement and the role of cultural institutions in fostering public debate. Sessions aim to clarify causes, share comparative research and highlight practical pathways for strengthening democratic resilience. Designed for researchers, practitioners and the interested public, the series encourages critical reflection and informed civic participation.

24 October – 1 November
