Critical Thinking, Are You There? How to Navigate an Uncertain Digital World

Mireille Bétrancourt, full professor in information technologies and learning processes at TECFA-FAPSE, UNIGE, presents an analysis of AI-generated images and videos and their impact on how we assess content cognitively and emotionally. The talk examines mechanisms of manipulation, the biases they introduce in perception and decision-making, and practical critical-thinking strategies to evaluate and contextualize digital media. Participants will gain tools to interrogate sources, detect manipulation cues and strengthen reflective evaluation.

The sessions let audiences observe judges, prosecutors, defence lawyers, experts and witnesses as they present arguments and assess evidence, revealing how judicial decisions are constructed. No prior legal knowledge is required; the programme clarifies legal reasoning and the dynamics of courtroom deliberation.

Amanda Cepero leads this adult singing workshop, focusing on Cuban repertoire and collective vocal practice. She guides accessible vocal and movement exercises to build listening, presence and ensemble confidence.

The session explores traditional Cuban songs, rhythm and harmony through warm-ups, call-and-response and group interpretation. Participants learn melodies and phrasing while practicing stage presence, expression and collaborative arranging to deepen musical understanding and personal confidence.
