Palais de justice is Geneva’s historic courthouse housing criminal and civil courts, including the Tribunal pénal and Tribunal de police. The venue hosts judicial proceedings, legal administration and public hearings within a protected 18th-century building. It combines institutional functions with architectural heritage, serving as a central symbol of the canton’s judicial system.
These staged mock trials offer an immersive look at courtroom procedures through three distinct cases: an employment dismissal dispute, a proposal to convert a historic courtroom into a nursery, and a robbery with conflicting testimonies. The sessions let audiences observe judges, prosecutors, defence lawyers, experts and witnesses as they present arguments and assess evidence, revealing how judicial decisions are constructed. No prior legal knowledge is required; the programme clarifies legal reasoning and the dynamics of courtroom deliberation.
