Presented at the Festival CDD, Jésus Triste follows a gang of bus fare dodgers seeking a line of flight to walk between the drops of the worst empire that governs them. Performed by a tight ensemble, the piece mixes grotesque humor and bleak poetry, using physical theatre, rhythmic text and stripped-back staging to evoke precarious survival and collective resistance. The production balances tenderness and fury in an unsettling, poetic atmosphere.

Cosmic Impro and Compagnie des Murmures join forces for a double-bill of high-energy improvisation. Four performers compete in a chaotic Battle Royal of mini-games and absurd challenges, where audience choices steer the action. Later, Sokkyo, an improvised shōnen, channels epic fights, friendship and soaring emotion with punchy physicality and comic timing. Led by Corina Belcea and featuring Suyeon Kang (violin), Krzysztof Chorzelski (viola) and Antoine Lederlin (cello), the Belcea Quartet presents a programme of Beethoven string quartets. The evening juxtaposes early classical poise with late-period introspection, from the radiant op. 18 No. 2 through the contemplative op. 135 to the profound op. 131. The ensemble’s refined phrasing, dynamic interplay and concentrated sonority reveal fresh contrasts and intimate architecture in these masterpieces.
Two bands take the stage: The Band, channeling raw 1960s–70s rock, and Latin Lovers, offering swing and Latin-infused repertoire. The programme alternates driving electric grooves and warm, danceable rhythms, with musicians trading solos and close harmonies. The sound design favors immediacy and intimacy, letting textures and dynamics shape the evening. It creates a convivial, nocturnal atmosphere where nostalgia meets rhythmic exuberance and live interplay becomes the event’s emotional core.
Choreographed and performed by Andalusian artist María del Mar Suárez, known as La Chachi, this hybrid flamenco piece blends reverence and deconstruction of tradition with a punk expressivity. Two musicians and a singer form a driving, looping soundscape that slowly reveals La Chachi’s silhouette as she advances, her movements coiling and breaking like the music’s escalating cycles. Visceral and hypnotic, the work explores the effort to overcome the seemingly insurmountable, building tense intimacy and ritualized ascent.
