Laboratory: Creation of Short Forms

Led by artist Katy Deville, cofounder of Théâtre de Cuisine, this laboratory investigates object theatre and the creative processes behind short stage forms. Participants explore materiality, dramaturgy and staging strategies through practical exercises, prototyping and peer feedback. The programme supports the development of a concise presentable piece adaptable to both unconventional sites and theatrical stages. Emphasis is placed on experimentation, interdisciplinary approaches and collective creation.

This interactive memory challenge invites participants to test their memory while exploring practical ways to preserve biodiversity based on Geneva’s municipal strategy. Players match “before-and-after” images that illustrate individual and institutional actions, and each correct pair reveals concise information explaining the measure. The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.

Wednesday 7 October, 19:00

Philippine Coutau, an independent researcher born in Geneva in 1999, investigates industrial seeds and the future of agriculture. Her 2025 investigation for Heidi.news examines how four agrochemical giants now control the majority of certified seeds and pesticides, standardising crops, locking in toxic farming models and increasing plant vulnerability. This lecture explores the political, ecological and social stakes of seed industrialisation and the implications for food systems. Moderated by Serge Michel.

Cindy Dulac, conservator and head curator, and Timothy Pönitz, cultural and scientific mediator, present a joint conference-visit exploring the transformation of an archaeological site into an active cultural place. They examine the balance between conserving built heritage and fostering contemporary creation, discussing interpretation strategies, adaptive reuse, and community engagement. The session highlights methodological approaches and case studies that reveal tensions and opportunities at the intersection of archaeology, heritage management and contemporary arts.

This summit examines how finance can be aligned with sustainability, convening stakeholders across finance, public authorities and international organisations to surface investable solutions. Through plenaries, interactive action events and a Solutions Stage of rapid pitches, it explores strategic alliances, high-impact partnerships and practical pathways for scaling sustainable investment. The programme investigates policy, regulatory and market levers that enable collaboration across private and public finance to mobilise capital for measurable systems change.
