
Salle de répétition at Boulevard Helvétique 9 is a 100 m² rehearsal studio in Geneva used by theatre and music companies. Hosted within the former HEAD building, it provides a flexible, light-filled space for rehearsals, workshops and small-scale residencies managed by local cultural cooperatives and associations.
Guided by puppeteers Cécile Chevalier and Franck Fedele of Tête-dans-le-sac marionnettes, this hands-on workshop introduces participants to puppet construction and the basics of manipulation. In a playful, practice-focused session, attendees will explore materials, simple mechanisms and performance gestures to bring a creation to life. Suitable for the general public from age nine; children must be accompanied by an adult. Learning outcomes include construction techniques and movement fundamentals.

Make and move your own puppet in a hands-on creative workshop. Young makers will design characters, choose fabrics and colours, and learn simple manipulation techniques to bring their creations to life. Through playful exercises and guided practice they explore movement, storytelling and fine motor skills while experimenting with textures, sounds and gestures. Small group work encourages sharing ideas and imaginative problem-solving.

Le Grand Chantier is a five-weekend intensive workshop that guides participants through every stage of creating a puppet show, from making puppets to staging performance. Led by Olivier Carrel with visiting specialists, the programme explores manipulation techniques, construction processes, text and dramaturgy, and stage direction. Participants engage in hands-on fabrication and rehearsals, culminating in a public presentation. Open to participants aged 12 and up.

Alexandra Vuillet, trained at Alain Recoing’s Théâtre aux Mains Nues, leads this professional workshop exploring the full expressive range of the glove puppet. Participants investigate its subtle lightness, the close connection between puppet and player’s body, and techniques for agile movement across varied spaces. The programme focuses on practical exercises and creative approaches that help puppeteers and actors renew their practice and expand physical vocabulary through manipulation and staging strategies.

Led by Yael Rasooly, this intensive professional workshop examines the relationship between performer and object as the central driver of artistic process. Participants investigate the dramaturgical potential emerging from the dialogue between body, material and memory, through practical exercises, improvisation and critical reflection. The program focuses on developing compositional strategies, sensory awareness and narrative shaping within object-centered performance practice.

Reserved for participants who have previously taken part in workshops or the Grand Chantier, this advanced atelier deepens puppet staging and performance. Relying on puppets provided by the TMG and on extracts from classical and contemporary texts, participants explore spatial relationships, stage mechanics and dramaturgy. Through guided exercises and scene work with Chine Curchod and Joël Hefti, the workshop investigates techniques of manipulation, characterization and ensemble timing to refine expressive possibilities in marionette theatre.
