Carac Festival is the University of Geneva’s month-long student cultural festival, bringing together dozens of student troupes and associations to share creations and experiences. Sustainability Week is a student-led festival that brings together students, staff and the wider community to explore sustainable living and collective action. Across workshops, skill-sharing and discussions participants can join clothing swaps and repair sessions, sewing and bookbinding workshops, paper-making, a planetary health programme, rooftop yoga, film screenings and photo exhibitions, and a closing Biocale evening. This workshop honours the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges through tango practice, combining cultural reflection with embodied learning. Participants explore tango as an improvised dance that develops concentration, body awareness, listening, and spatial perception. The session includes a beginners’ technique class followed by open practice, emphasizing connection, nonverbal communication, and improvisational decision-making. It examines how movement-based practice can foster creativity, attention and personal growth while engaging with Borges’s literary legacy.
Mai au Parc brings the community together for a lively three-day outdoor festival featuring fifteen concerts (including nine Swiss acts), family-friendly activities, and a wide selection of food stalls. Enjoy moments at the wine bar and explore a culinary world tour served on ten small plates. Activities and community-run stands invite everyone to participate; volunteers are welcome to join. The festival celebrates local music, conviviality and shared neighbourhood spirit.
