Written and performed by Déborah Magat and Daniel Ometto, Primevère blends circus, street theatre and living testimony to immerse audiences in the world of small-scale farming. Drawing on interviews with farmers, the piece uses non-verbal clowning, physical gestures and moments of absurdity to render complex realities—work, food, time—with warmth and critical intelligence. The clown acts as a free, popular figure: subverting norms, reversing roles and revealing social tensions through humour and tenderness. The overall tone is poetic, engaged and accessible.
