Philemon and Baucis

Booking Required

Directed by Kim Crofts, this luminous puppet opera reimagines Joseph Haydn’s Philemon and Baucis through a contemporary lens. Puppets give physical presence to gods and villagers, while spoken text alternates with operatic arias performed with the Geneva Chamber Orchestra in co‑production with the OCG and the Ecolint Arts Centre. Themes of divine judgement, hospitality and human greed unfold in a staged world ablaze, where attentive sound and lighting design shape intimacy, menace and fragile mercy.

An exuberant stage adaptation of the beloved macabre comedy, The Addams Family plunges into dark humour, family dynamics and absurdity. The production balances gothic visuals and sharp, musical comedy with precise ensemble work, playful choreography and stylised design. Intimate moments alternate with full-cast set pieces, creating a contrast between tenderness and the bizarre. Directed by Bastien Blanchard, CANICULE is a first play that turns a scorching domestic scene into a comedic yet unsettling probe of consumerist happiness. Actors Nadim Ahmed, Estelle Benaïch, Danae Dario and Angelo Dell’Aquila shift between light banter and mounting unease as a repairman exposes fissures in a marriage. Cornélius Spaeter’s scenography, Marc Heinmendinger’s lighting and Ljubica Markovic’s costumes frame moments of heat, claustrophobia and ironic intimacy, touching on climate change and overconsumption with dry wit and emotional precision.

Nine exiled Afghan actresses and their director turn Sophocles’ Antigone into a luminous act of defiance, weaving their own flight from tyranny into a fluid chorus that moves between whispered poetry and blazing resolve; on a moon-lit set where shadows ripple across a reflective pool, their shared fervour collides with oppression’s darkness, conjuring a present-tense theatre of resistance performed in Dari (with French subtitles) that pulses with the courage, grace and unbroken spirit of women who refuse to fall silent.

In Dari, with french subtitles.  Ages 14 and up.
