Renowned tenor Benjamin Bernheim, accompanied on piano by Carrie-Ann Mathseson, will perform in the prestigious series Les Grands Interprètes. The program features works by Bizet, Duparc, Chausson, Tchaikovsky, Puccini, Massenet, Kosma, Trenet, and Brel. Audiences can look forward to famous excerpts such as “Je crois entendre encore” from The Pearl Fishers, “La fleur que tu m’avais jetée” from Carmen, “Pourquoi me réveiller” from Werther, and “Les feuilles mortes.”
Les Créatives are hosting a concert by Draga at the Alhambra. This musical project, inspired by Monique Wittig’s work, brings together Lucie Antunes, Anna Mouglalis, P.R2B, Théodora Delilez, and Narumi Herisson. The Ensemble Temenos with Chouchane Siranossian presents a concert dedicated to Jean-Féry Rebel at the Lutheran Church of Geneva. This program delves into the instrumental music of Rebel, a violinist with the King’s 24 Violins and a composer for the Royal Academy of Music, who was both a student and legacy-bearer of Lully. Featured are the Trio Sonata “La Flore”, the solo violin sonatas from Opus 2, and the Sonata No. 7 in C minor “Tombeau de Monsieur de Lully”. The performance highlights the fusion of French dance and Italian influence, celebrating Rebel’s discreet virtuosity and characteristic stylistic harmony.
The Festival Les Créatives, a multidisciplinary event in Geneva, highlights the artistic and intellectual works of women and gender minorities. The 21st edition features concerts, theater, exhibitions, and discussions on topics such as chosen families and friendships. Notable participants include Hélène Giannecchini, Sophie Lewis, and Chloé Delaume. “Bal Impérial – Boléro” seamlessly blends an imperial waltz with Ravel’s mesmerizing Boléro. Created by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Damien Jalet, this work delves into the social and political roots of dance. The first segment, “Bal Impérial,” marks the bicentennial of Johann Strauss by juxtaposing Viennese music with Japanese percussion, all set in an evocative stage design and costumes by Tim Yip. The second segment, “Boléro,” revisits the 2013 choreography, presenting an intense, visceral dance to Ravel’s dramatic crescendo, enriched by artistic influences from Marina Abramović.
In Un volcan silencieux, sociologist and director Diane Muller reconnects with ten former classmates from Dijon, all born in 1979. Through open interviews, she explores how gender, class, and societal expectations have shaped their lives — from romantic ideals to motherhood and solitude. On stage, their voices are transmitted live, creating a powerful, intimate portrait of a generation.
Co-produced with the Les Créatives festival, the piece blends sociology and theatre to map the invisible lines of social determinism.
