Yaz: Let’s Talk About Love, Habibi

Mehdi Djouad combines astrology, ritual performance, movement and writing in a short performative reading set to live music by 7EMA. The piece transforms celestial cycles into staged fragments: poetic extracts from a year-long diary that tracked the astrological sky are interwoven with choreography and ritual gestures to examine collective solitude, love and faith beneath a starry vault. Co-produced by L’Abri; Mehdi Djouad was Artist Associate there in the 2025–26 season.

In French. Created for the Fête du Théâtre.

Caroline Bernard and her team create a ‘radio-dojo’, an intimate stage where body, voice and confidence are released through practice. In this performance, Belkacem inhabits the space and invites an encounter between martial arts, personal stories and locally gathered testimonies. The piece weaves radio testimonies, music and martial-arts passages around Belkacem’s journey, showing how training, mutual aid and trust help overcome hardship. Coproduced with Swiss and French theatres.

Directed by Céline Goormaghtigh and written by Anne Berest, LA VISITE probes maternal instinct with sharp humour and urgent intensity. In a compact domestic setting, a young mother at the limits of endurance confronts visitors while her defenses dissolve; a trio of actresses whirl and collide, delivering a caustic torrent of language and revealing movement. The work explores ‘matraissance’—the birth of motherhood—balancing lucidity, rage and tenderness to unsettle familiar myths about maternal bliss.

Jaune is a fresh stage piece created and performed by recent graduates Mathis Josselin and Gabrielle Pialoux. This first collaboration explores the many faces of the colour yellow — joy, friendship, tenderness, desire and its more ambivalent edges — with an intimate, playful and sincere theatrical language. The creators blend minimal staging and tactile gestures to produce a concise, evocative hour of shared emotion and quiet humour.

Led by artistic director Daniel Diebold, this tribute to pianist Gilles Landini brings together pianist John Michet and actor Laurent Dolci in a program blending music and poetry. The performance honours Landini’s deep engagement with composers across eras, his commitment to musical transmission, and his lesser-known poetic voice. Through intimate piano passages and spoken-word interludes, the ensemble explores memory, interpretation and the emotional ties between repertoire and listener.

Kohan and Jordan present a musical suite that blurs composition and improvisation. Claude Jordan (flutes) and Eduardo Kohan (tenor saxophone, bass clarinet, piano) weave arrangements of original pieces, altered songs and reimagined classical repertoire into a porous, bricolage-like soundscape. Sparse textures give way to sudden cascades, intimate dialogues and playful timbres, inviting attentive listening and surprise. The duo’s interplay foregrounds timbral contrast and conversational phrasing, producing an atmosphere at once contemplative, whimsical and vividly physical.
