Promethee returns for a final hometown concert, marking the comeback of original vocalist Josh for a farewell performance. Founded in 2008, the band has become a pillar of Swiss metal with powerful compositions and high-energy live shows. For his final production as a theatre director, Jean Liermier revisits Tennessee Williams’s autobiographical classic about memory, longing and family. Set in the 1930s American South, the staging gathers a company around Laura, here embodied by Aurélia Thierrée, with Cyprien Colombo, David Gobet and Clotilde Mollet completing the ensemble. Liermier’s direction emphasises fragile interiors and poetic movement, offering a liberating, weightless atmosphere that balances tenderness and uneasy nostalgia.

Thursday 8 October, 19:30

Led by Corina Belcea and featuring Suyeon Kang (violin), Krzysztof Chorzelski (viola) and Antoine Lederlin (cello), the Belcea Quartet presents a programme of Beethoven string quartets. The evening juxtaposes early classical poise with late-period introspection, from the radiant op. 18 No. 2 through the contemplative op. 135 to the profound op. 131. The ensemble’s refined phrasing, dynamic interplay and concentrated sonority reveal fresh contrasts and intimate architecture in these masterpieces.

8 October – 14 November

Told as a solo performance, this piece follows a woman as she remembers the films that shaped her life and blurs the line between cinema and memory. Through references to science-fiction sagas and cinematic archetypes — the woman-soldier, the survivor, the reluctant mother — the show probes identity, fear of change and the ways stories migrate from screen to skin. Sparse staging and intimate narration create a haunting, introspective atmosphere.

Scène Vagabonde’s seventh edition brings a compact program of contemporary theatre and music, presenting three contrasting stage works — “Par le bout du nez”, “Quadrille” and “Prima facie” — alongside a concert by Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp as part of La Bâtie-Festival de Genève. Across intimate stagings the festival favors inventive direction, close ensemble interplay and a balance of wit and intensity, offering encounters that privilege physical presence, tonal variety and rigorous dramaturgy.

Directed by Céline Goormaghtigh and written by Anne Berest, LA VISITE probes maternal instinct with sharp humour and urgent intensity. In a compact domestic setting, a young mother at the limits of endurance confronts visitors while her defenses dissolve; a trio of actresses whirl and collide, delivering a caustic torrent of language and revealing movement. The work explores ‘matraissance’—the birth of motherhood—balancing lucidity, rage and tenderness to unsettle familiar myths about maternal bliss.
