JazzContreBand celebrates its 30th anniversary with a new creation led by trumpeter Erik Truffaz. Franco‑Swiss musicians join forces with the Orchestre des Alpes et du Léman in Side by Side, a programme that blends classical writing, jazz phrasing and open-ended improvisation. Stéphane Blok returns with City 8047, an album shaped in Zurich and recorded live on guitar and voice, with no post-production edits. His acoustic playing folds melody, harmony and percussion into the same gesture, creating raw, stripped-down arrangements that feel both immediate and intimate. The songs move between irony and emotion, reflecting on AI, virtuality, fakery and dehumanization without slipping into polemic. Each track keeps its own resonance, carried by precise lyrics and a singular stage presence.

29 October – 8 November

Adapted freely from Maryse Condé and Emily Brontë, this theatrical adaptation follows Razyé and Cathy across three generations in a post-emancipation Guadeloupe. Directed by Anne Monfort, the production probes themes of racism, passion, pride, social violence, vengeance and fatalism through a visceral, rhythmic staging. The ensemble uses sparse, evocative design and intense physical interplay to reveal how inherited trauma shapes desire and retribution.

Guihome returns with a finely observed one‑man show that traces the passage from childhood to adulthood through a gallery of new characters and a naturalistic staging. The performance blends candid humour, tenderness and sharp, observational monologue as it follows first moves, first marriage and a first funeral. The staging favours realism and intimate storytelling, creating a warm, reflective atmosphere sustained across nearly two hours.

Created by Manon Bril and Etienne Lautrette and directed by Théo Comby Lemaitre, this hybrid lecture-performance blends scholarly rigour with theatrical wit. Historian Manon Bril guides the audience through surprising episodes of human history, overturning assumptions with a sharp, offbeat humour and playful staging. The show mixes clear popular-science explanation, theatrical images and comic timing to reveal that nothing has “always been like this”.

Directed by Eléonore Bonah and staged by scenographer Maria Clara Castioni, CHRÜSIMÜSI transforms Adelheid Duvanel’s terse, poetic fragments into a multilingual theatrical tapestry. Performers Eléonore Bonah and Maria Clara Castioni inhabit hypersensitive, marginal characters whose everyday gestures oscillate between absurdity and tenderness. Sparse staging and a careful interplay of voice and silence highlight Duvanel’s Kafkaesque intimacy, while language shifts (French, German, Italian) create a fragile, dreamlike atmosphere that balances humour and quiet despair, celebrating stubborn acts of resistance.
