Nocturnal Jazz

Jean-Yves Poupin’s melodic jazz opens an intimate, late-night atmosphere, balancing wit and tenderness. At the piano, the Franco-Swiss musician draws on a career of albums, collaborations and film music, while Geneva-based Denis Favrichon brings the singular resonance of his self-built cellobass, somewhere between cello and double bass. Bérangère Mastrangelo adds an evocative voice shaped by jazz, funk and bossa nova, giving the trio a smoky, playful energy.

BBBBBBB, the Japanese duo of Saionji (voice and sound production) and Sawa (voice), unleashes a sonic upheaval where digital hardcore collides with noise, industrial textures, trap and other unruly sounds. US guitarist Erica Dawn Lyle brings an intense, abrasive electric-guitar solo, carving a raw and uncompromising path through distortion and physical energy. Bamba Triste and Fuxy Lady round out the evening with a record-spinning set specially conceived for this occasion, extending the night’s adventurous, unruly soundscape.

Told as a solo performance, this piece follows a woman as she remembers the films that shaped her life and blurs the line between cinema and memory. Through references to science-fiction sagas and cinematic archetypes — the woman-soldier, the survivor, the reluctant mother — the show probes identity, fear of change and the ways stories migrate from screen to skin. Sparse staging and intimate narration create a haunting, introspective atmosphere.
