Martin Suter – Allmen et le dernier des Weynfeldt

Martin Suter is one of Switzerland’s most celebrated authors. The elegant German-language writer has explored nearly every literary form: novelist, advertising copywriter, journalist, playwright, screenwriter, lyricist for musician Stephan Eicher, and even footballer biographer.

In Allmen et le dernier des Weynfeldt (Phébus, 2025), he brings together two of his most iconic characters: Allmen, the penniless dandy detective, and Adrien Weynfeldt, the wealthy art connoisseur and protagonist of his bestseller The Last Weynfeldt (Christian Bourgois, 2008). The two men, who share a love for beauty and fine dining, meet in a bar and quickly strike up a friendship.

A refined crime novel set between Italy and Switzerland, the book is full of razor-sharp dialogue. The pocket edition of his novel Melody (Phébus, 2024) was released in French this past January.
