Les Inoubliables Festival: David Kadouch

Renowned pianist David Kadouch, celebrated for his eclectic repertoire that seamlessly blends classical pieces with contemporary creations, will be performing in concert. Opening the event are Lisa Tourniaire and Mathis Calzetta, the award-winning duo hailed as laureates of the Les Inoubliables Prize from the Mélodies competition at the Geneva HEM.

Featuring a minimalist set and lighting inspired by William Turner, it challenges social norms and explores our relationship with gender, employing quotes from the novel, humor, and personal anecdotes.

Thursday 2 October, 19:00

The Ensemble Les Illuminations continues its commitment to contemporary women composers with their concert Vera Vita Viva. Featuring a new work by Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber for five instruments, the piece weaves together baroque timbres and contemporary colors, sacred and profane, tracing a musical thread from Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre to Kaija Saariaho, Ethel Smyth, and Sofia Goubaïdoulina, where memory and invention engage in a continuous dialogue.

An evening centered on the theme of adulterous love awaits you at the Foyer of the Grand Théâtre de Genève. Experience selections from Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande,” alongside more lighthearted pieces by Offenbach and Poulenc, performed by soprano Charlotte Bozzi, tenor Jean Miannay, bass Mark Kurmanbayev, and pianist Xavier Dami. This is a musical and poetic exploration of infidelity, rich with emotion and humor.

25 September – 5 October

The Old Masters present “The Painting Horse” at Maison Saint-Gervais. This performance features a trio of performers in a horse costume, blending the human and the animal. Through this hybrid character, they explore freedom and artistic creation with a playful and philosophical approach, delving into the desire to create.

2 – 19 October

Eugène Ionesco’s “The Bald Soprano” is a quintessential work of absurdist theater, depicting the nonsensical and tedious interactions between two couples, the Smiths and the Martins. The arrival of the Fire Chief and the maid Marie sparks surreal situations and unexpected outbursts, before the Smiths dismiss the unlikely visitors and return to their original monotony. This production, directed by Cyril Kaiser, features puppets by Christophe Kiss alongside actors Vincent Babel, Nicole Bachmann, Blaise Granget, and Vanessa Battistini.

This performance is part of the Scène Vagabonde Festival.
