La politique du pire — Adrien Barazzone

Conceived, written and performed by Adrien Barazzone, La politique du pire stages a single actor embodying a tumultuous municipal council debating a contemporary artwork replacing a statue. With mordant energy he inhabits a civic body and offers a sharp, jubilant mirror on public life, playing the paradox of solitary performance versus republican dialogue. Scenography: Hélène Bessero-Belti and Tom Richtarch; costumes: Maria Muscalu; sound: Fernando de Miguel; lighting: Vincent Scalbert; collaborators: Barbara Schlittler, Christian Geffroy Schlittler; consultant: Nils‑A. Sambuc. Second instalment of the Trilogie des systèmes, begun with Toute intention de nuire (2024); final part due spring 2027.

Based on sketches by Devos, Ribes, Sylvie Joly, Palmade and Martinez, this theatrical revue sketches the comic microcosm of apartment life. Short scenes expose domestic tensions — marital rows, overwhelmed parents, an unpredictable grandmother and holiday disasters — with sharp observational wit and precise farcical timing. The ensemble slips into vivid characters, combining spoken comedy and physical nuance to reveal tenderness beneath the chaos, offering a warm, incisive portrait of neighbours and family.

When Michel finds a rare record he has long sought, he prepares a perfect hour to listen — but family, neighbours and a drip that will wreck the disc steadily intrude. Directed by Gabriel Álvarez, Le Repas revives two flagship pieces from his company’s repertoire for the 40th anniversary of Studio d’Action Théâtrale and pays homage to playwright Valère Novarina. A cosmogonic feast staged with the audience at table, the performance devours the world through ritual, poetry and corporeal presence. It examines human voracity, collective memory and the fate of what we ingest, offering a sensorial, intimate and occasionally brutal theatrical journey.

Three improvisers and composers — Maël Godinat (piano), William Jacquemet (trombone) and Pierre‑François Massy (double bass) — present a program of original material and carefully chosen covers. Arrangements emphasize close harmonies, intimate interplay and attentive listening, letting sparse textures open into rich, resonant chords. The trio’s sound balances lyrical phrasing with rhythmic subtlety; lighting and silence shape moments of suspended time, inviting a contemplative, warm atmosphere that reimagines harmonic conversation in the moment.

Told as a solo performance, this piece follows a woman as she remembers the films that shaped her life and blurs the line between cinema and memory. Through references to science-fiction sagas and cinematic archetypes — the woman-soldier, the survivor, the reluctant mother — the show probes identity, fear of change and the ways stories migrate from screen to skin. Sparse staging and intimate narration create a haunting, introspective atmosphere.
