In the Brain

In the Brain, Hofesh Shechter’s latest creation, is a raw, electrifying dive into movement, rhythm and collective energy. Built from the 2022 piece Cave, it probes human gatherings and instinctive behaviour as identities dissolve into a shared pulse. A powerful, immersive score drives bodies to sync and merge, creating an intense collective dynamic. Lighting by Tom Visser and costumes by Osnat Kelner frame the ensemble work performed by Matilde Agostinone, Teige Bisnought, Nagga Baldina, Federica Fantuzi, Woojin Kwon, Armand Lassus, Skiye Nataliah and Ella Roberts.

Chamamé is a celebration of Argentinian-Guaraní rhythms reworked with European polka, performed by Chamigos’ chamameceros on accordion and guitars. Participants explore circle songs, cantos de trabajo, body percussion and diverse dance forms—sabar and flamenco—through practical sessions led by artists and pedagogues including Marine Pelletrau-Duris, Rebecca Roger Cruz, Roberto Castillo, Khady Sarr, Mbar Ndiaye and Felipe Clivio. The programme emphasizes technique, cultural context and collective improvisation to develop expressive and rhythmic skills.

1 – 4 July

An intimate series of open-air concerts presented by the municipality, offering high-quality music beneath century-old trees. Audiences are invited into a relaxed, convivial atmosphere where acoustic textures and lyrical lines unfold in the natural setting. Each programme spans varied styles and moods, favouring attentive listening and communal enjoyment. Refreshments and light food will be available on site. In case of poor weather, performances will be moved to an indoor space.

3 – 4 July

Performed by Bastien Blanchard and Antoine Courvoisier, Le Promptu is a playful cabaret-style show of rapid-fire impressions and musical mimicry. Over a compact, high-energy set, the duo shifts between iconic actors and singers with tight complicity, precise vocal work and theatrical timing. The staging favors brisk pacing and witty contrast, inviting laughter and recognition while spotlighting craft and interplay. The performance balances affectionate pastiche with sharp observational detail.

Join a playful builder who improvises a strange home in a garden. With brave, clever ropes and found objects she moves from one idea to the next, sometimes wild, sometimes stubborn, slowly assembling a surprising structure. Children will watch materials cooperate or resist, feel the rhythm of making, and wonder whether everything will collapse or turn into accidental genius. A lively, physical performance that celebrates imagination, trial and joyful experimentation.

La Cité Bleue invites you on a timeless journey with La Nuit Bleue Orientale, a 12-hour musical marathon from July 4 to 5, 2026.
Curated by Franco-Iranian percussionist Keyvan Chemirani, this enchanting night brings together artists from diverse backgrounds to explore musical traditions from Persia, the Levant, and the Mediterranean. The program alternates captivating concerts with restful pauses, blending ancient instruments with contemporary expression, improvisation with traditional repertoire.
To enrich the experience, the Café des artistes will offer teas and pastries from various Eastern cultures—deepening the immersion in this unforgettable celebration of sound and spirit.
