Furious Thinking

Furious Thinking presents works by Bachelor students from HEAD Genève’s Chroma option, examining the origins of their emerging artistic practice. Blurred memories, endless archives, accumulated collections and the ceaseless image feed converge in a room-like installation of personal effects: mutant PEZ, bigfoot slippers, jewellery, dice, cakes, a bed and stacked plastic chairs, alongside politics, family, distant mountain chants and a few monsters. The exhibition functions as exercise, rehearsal and edition, probing how images wound, soothe and shape authorship beyond the canvas.

Opening : Friday, April 17, 18:00 – 21:00.
Closing : Friday, May 8, 16:00 – 18:00 pm, including a listening session with Henry Rausch. In French

29 January – 25 October

John M Armleder is invited for the museum’s sixth Carte Blanche, presenting over 500 works in a thematic traversal that juxtaposes heritage and contemporary creation. The installation-driven exhibition stages dialogues between animals, abstract painting, musical instruments and lighting, using assemblage, ephemeral structures and situational interventions to encourage wandering and reinterpretation. Paintings, sculptures and installations are layered and superimposed to prompt new readings of the collection and to foreground process, chance and visual play.

17 – 26 April

Archipel Festival presents a selection of independent cinema that foregrounds experimental narratives, emerging voices and boundary-pushing forms. Over a curated programme, filmmakers explore intimacy, migration, memory and the politics of image through bold cinematography and attentive sound design. The festival prioritises debut works and daring auteurs, offering concentrated encounters with contemporary film practices. Programming balances short and feature-length films, panel conversations and artist-led sessions that frame the films within wider cultural and aesthetic debates.

28 March – 10 May

MAMCO presents Dial‑A‑Poem Switzerland, a telephone-based poetic broadcasting project inspired by John Giorno. The installation transforms a decommissioned phone booth into a listening station, gathering recorded voices from across Switzerland’s linguistic regions. The programme features contributions by poets and artists exploring language, public space and oral transmission, alternating recorded and live readings. Conceived with Giorno Poetry Systems, the project foregrounds voice as material and communal listening as a poetic practice.

26 March – 8 May

Natalia González Martín presents eleven new oil paintings on panel that extend her sustained engagement with still life. Drawing on the visual language of Baroque and Counter-Reformation masters such as Juan Sánchez Cotán and Francisco Zurbarán, the works turn toward the ritual of sobremesa — the suspended time after a meal — and consider it as a gendered social space. Set against tenebrist backgrounds, plates, fruit, glasses and fragments of bodies emerge to reorient still life from display and possession toward duration, relation and the often-invisible labour of togetherness.

1 – 6 May

“Métamorphose.” The exhibition aims to bring together artists and artworks inspired by the theme of spring in all its forms and interpretations. Each artistic contribution brings a distinct voice to this shared reflection on transformation and renewal.

13 March – 16 May

Geneva-based artist Christian Robert-Tissot transforms everyday words, slogans and street expressions into bold visual artworks. By shifting these familiar phrases out of their usual context, he reveals their rhythms, ambiguities and hidden meanings, turning ordinary language into playful reflections on daily life.

Opening during the Nuit des Bains, Thursday 12 March, 18:00.
