Echoes of Freedom: Palestine x Sudan

Echoes of Freedom brings together Palestinian and Sudanese voices through art, music and communal creation. Workshops, a market, talks, live performances and DJ sets invite artists, activists and neighbours to share practices, debate and build solidarity. All proceeds are donated to Palestinian and Sudanese associations fighting colonisation, gender-based violence and imperialist dynamics. This inclusive event welcomes everyone to connect, create and stand together in community.

Blending heritage with contemporary creativity, the festivities highlight the people, traditions and local energy that have shaped the commune across generations, with everything from open-air celebrations and artistic workshops to virtual reality experiences, comedy shows, themed evenings and family-friendly activities designed to bring the entire community together.

26 May – 21 June

Join a citywide celebration of piano, music and community as an open-air project places playable pianos across Geneva. For 15 years the initiative has invited everyone to sit, play or listen, mixing spontaneous performances with a programme of short acoustic concerts in unexpected public settings. Instruments are freely accessible and many performances are announced only on the spot, creating shared, inclusive musical moments that bring neighbours and visitors together.

Explore the open river as it wakes with colors, sounds and movement. Follow short guided tours and browse an exhibition with a scale model of the new neighborhood project. Kids can join playful workshops, try simple sports and step into virtual reality corners. Walk along the water, feel the breeze, listen to laughter and music, and make art or games together. Bright visuals and hands-on activities invite curiosity and creativity.

Local community associations gather for a day of family-friendly activities and a traditional firefighters’ ball. Throughout the day there will be stalls, performances and chances to meet neighbour groups, share food and enjoy music together. Everyone is welcome — families, friends and newcomers — to connect, volunteer or simply celebrate community spirit in a warm, inclusive setting. Visitors can discover local initiatives, speak with volunteers and find ways to get involved.

Join a lively folk dance party where musicians and dancers bring Hungarian, Slovak and Transylvanian traditions to life. Leap into simple children’s dances, clap to rhythmic fiddle tunes and feel the drums and flutes lift the music. Watch bright skirts swirl, learn steps with helpers, and sing short refrains. The hall fills with warm voices, energetic footsteps and the smell of tasty pastries at the food stalls, all inviting imagination and movement.
