Collectif_fact Afterimage

collectif_fact is composed of Annelore Schneider (born 1979 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland) and Claude Piguet (born 1977 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland). Living and working between London and Geneva, they create mainly video-based works that deconstruct cinematic codes and popular culture stereotypes. Their practice explores notions of (anti-)spectacle, simulacra, and appropriation through fragmented narratives combining dialogue, quotations, music, and references to classic cinema.

Patterns explores the repetition and assembly of everyday industrial objects — trinkets, cups, CDs, rollers, sponges, pens, combs, buttons, sweets — organised into handcrafted systems of duplication constrained by physical properties. The works, presented as floor installations and photographic prints, emphasise how form, weight, volume, materiality and colour determine compositional logic, subverting original function. Yvan Salomone presents a series of recent watercolours that transform anonymous buildings and soulless industrial sites into evocative landscapes. Through delicate, velvety tones, subtle colour modulations and watery traces that suggest life, the artist elevates banal subjects and transfigures objective reality. The exhibition’s title, 2611, alludes to Salomone’s practice of assigning eleven‑letter titles composed from the alphabet, producing names that detach the work from literal description and invite poetic reading.

Pierre Tal Coat’s practice is examined through his intimate dialogue with the book, presenting around forty illustrated and picture-book collaborations alongside a selection of original works. The exhibition highlights his editorial partnerships with leading publishers and encounters with poets and writers, revealing a visual language where ink, print and image engage in precise, elliptical conversations with text. Works range across periods, tracing shifts in technique, materiality and a restrained yet expressive pictorial vocabulary.

Géométries marocaines shows works from Ghizlane AGZENAÏ, Meriam BENKIRANE, Ines-Noor CHAQROUN, Yousef DOUIEB, Yacout HAMDOUCH and Younes KHOURASSANI, exploring geometrical forms and shapes in dialogue with Morocco.

The exhibition “Sauvages” at the Cité Library invites visitors to delve into the behind-the-scenes of Claude Barras’s film. It is divided into three sections that cover the ecological and cultural aspects of Borneo, reveal the creative and production processes of the film, and immerse the audience in the filming atmosphere through never-before-seen photos and testimonials. Original documents, drawings, travel journals, sets, and figurines enhance this immersive experience.

Genevan artist Gérald Grosjean presents a focused series of paintings and handcrafted maquettes that examine industrial and railway landscapes. The show gathers twenty-seven canvases and three models made from reclaimed materials, emphasising a pointillist approach to structures such as stations, bridges, dams, factories and viaducts. Through meticulous dots and assembled found objects, Grosjean explores the aesthetic presence and collective memory of infrastructure, inviting reflection on material reuse and the visual poetry of engineered landscapes.
