Chess Workshop

Led by Mégane Miralles, Grandmaster Clovis Vernay, and International Master Yohan Benitah, instructors from the Geneva Chess Federation (FGE).

For adult beginners and near-beginners: This workshop invites you to discover the fundamentals of this ancient game and to improve through hands-on practice and learning of key openings and themes.

For children aged 4 to 13, divided into three groups based on age and experience: Young beginners (ages 4–6) will learn the rules of the game. Near-beginners will begin to spot checkmates and explore tactical combinations. Older or more experienced children will deepen their tactical and strategic understanding. Each child will receive an exercise booklet tailored to their level, allowing them to track their progress and continue learning beyond the workshop.

On the final day, all three groups will take part in a friendly competition, with trophies awarded to the top three players.
