Under the baton of Jonathan Nott, this symphonic programme pairs contemporary sound with late-Romantic depth. Janine Jansen’s violin brings Dubugnon’s Sonnenring — a concerto inspired by the visionary art of Adolf Wölfli and premiered in Switzerland — to life with fearless lyricism. The evening culminates in Gustav Mahler’s expansive Symphony No. 7, “Chant de la nuit”, its nocturnal textures explored with shimmering orchestral colour. The performance stems from a commission shared by the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and the London Symphony Orchestra.
