Stéphane Ducret presents Being Matters, an immersive series of recent paintings that map psyche and the living realm. The presentation gathers seven large to very large oil paintings on linen alongside a series of small-format works on wood. Through layered surfaces, deliberate errors and a dense pictorial process, Ducret explores invisible mechanisms of thought, memory and introspection. The works function as atmospheric studies of materiality and painterly gesture, charting states of mind and organic presence.

Voltaire lived here — and that alone makes Les Délices worth knowing about. The historic residence houses manuscripts, artworks, and documents related to the philosopher and the Enlightenment. Access is more limited than at a conventional museum, so it works best as a special-visit recommendation.

Permanent exhibition

Tucked inside the historic Commanderie de Compesières, this unusual collection traces the military and humanitarian history of the Order of Malta through uniforms, paintings, manuscripts, medals and coins. A niche museum with a setting to match — visits are by appointment, so a little planning is required.

Border Forensics presents an audiovisual exhibition of investigative films documenting violence at borders.
Excerpts from three films, The Death of Blessing Matthew (2022), The Death of Roger Nzoy Wilhelm (2025) and Asymmetric Visions (2023), combine documentary footage with geospatial analysis, data visualization and 3D modeling. The works reconstruct contested events, interrogate aerial surveillance and Mediterranean migration control, and foreground communities affected by border violence. The project examines how images and data can document abuses, challenge official narratives and advance claims for mobility justice.

Opening: September 22, 18h30 – speeches, performance, drinks.
