Tuesday 23 February, 19:30

Renowned for its precision and expressive depth, the Juilliard String Quartet presents a programme pairing French clarity and Eastern European intensity. Violins Areta Zhulla and Leonard Fu, violist Molly Carr and cellist Astrid Schween shape Ravel’s lush string quartet alongside Bartók’s rhythmic drive and Grieg’s brooding lyricism. The performance balances chamber intimacy and orchestral sonorities, offering refined ensemble interplay, vivid dynamics and a contemplative, emotionally charged listening experience.

Tuesday 23 March, 19:30

Led by Jan Talich Jr., the Talich Quartet offers a vibrant programme of Central European chamber music. The ensemble—Jan Talich Jr. and Roman Patočka on violin, Radim Sedmidubský on viola, Michal Kaňka on cello—are joined by Ľubomír Gašpar on cymbalum for a programme that ranges from Dvořák’s lyrical American Quartet and his Gypsy Songs excerpts to Janáček’s Moravian folk songs, Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances and virtuosic showpieces by Boulanger, Dinicu and Ivan Vasiliev. The performance balances lyricism, folk-infused rhythms and fiery virtuosity.

Monday 26 April, 19:30

Violinist Alexandra Conunova and pianist Christian Zacharias present an intimate recital exploring works by Mozart and Bach. The programme pairs Mozart’s violin sonatas KV 301, KV 377 and KV 454 with Bach’s Partita No.3 BWV 1006 and Suite française No.1 BWV 812, contrasting classical clarity with baroque vitality. Conunova’s lyrical tone and nimble articulation meet Zacharias’s refined phrasing and harmonic color, creating a contemplative yet radiant evening that highlights conversation between instruments and the timeless eloquence of these masterworks.

Tuesday 3 May, 19:30

Maurice Steger, Avi Avital and Sebastian Wienand join forces in a programme of Baroque and early-classical repertoire. With Steger’s virtuoso recorder, Avital’s luminous mandolin and Wienand’s sparkling harpsichord, they present works by Vivaldi, Bach, Scarlatti, Mancini and Soler. The trio combines refined technique and expressive warmth, alternating lively dance movements and lyrical slow airs to deliver an intimate yet radiant chamber-music experience.
