As part of our In Conversation series, Taste Contemporary is proud to present an evening with the exhibition curator, Sarah Griffin, in conversation with exhibiting artists Ptolemy Mann and Marit Tingleff. The discussion will explore their approach to colour and abstraction, and the embodied intuitive knowledge gained through years of research and pratice in weaving and clay.
Our eyes are naturally drawn to light and what shines. Yet what could be more fascinating than shadow? Shadows have enabled many fundamental discoveries: the shape of the Earth, the calculation of its circumference, the identification of electrons, and the understanding of planetary motion. They accompany us and enrich our thinking. Come and explore them to learn more about their role in science.

Claire Guanella presents a series of works titled Getting Robotic that anchors her practice in filiation and networks. Using a metaphor rich in polysemy, the works examine our real connections, sustaining living memory and an attentive regard for the always-terrestrial roots of technological transformation. The exhibition considers the interplay between inheritance, collective memory and invention, prompting reflection on how human ties and grounded origins shape our evolving relations with machines.
Live Language Model brings together a collective exhibition that unfolds across successive sequences, presenting works and critical reflections on attention at the intersection of language and presence. The programme features performance-based pieces by the duo Calling the Operator (Axelle Stiefel and Octave Magescas) alongside new editions and sculptural installations by Thomas Hirschhorn and Olivier Mosset. Through typographic interventions, printed matter, performance and austere minimal forms, the project interrogates how language conditions perception and the social life of objects.

Across photography, weaving and ceramics, the show explores the darkroom, the dye lab and the kiln as sites of material transformation. The artists draw on deep embodied knowledge and long practice, using process, environment and material behaviour to shape outcomes. The works probe attention to texture, colour and time, revealing subtle relations between technique and the natural conditions that inform each practice.

EXEM aux urnes – 40 Years of Political Posters brings together 40 political posters by Geneva-based illustrator EXEM between 1988 and 2023. Spanning nearly four decades of Swiss direct democracy, the exhibition explores the distinctive language of political posters at the intersection of graphic art, satire, and political commentary.
Through EXEM’s sharp and engaging imagery, the exhibition traces the political issues and communication styles that have shaped Swiss public life, and offers insight into the artist’s creative process and the stories behind his iconic posters.

Beninese-born artist Roméo Mivekannin presents a series of paintings that investigate intimacy, memory and cultural identity. Working predominantly in acrylic on canvas, his canvases combine figurative portraiture with bold colour fields and textured surfaces. Works such as Anna in Red Kimono (2024) demonstrate a careful attention to costume, gesture and materiality, negotiating personal narrative and broader diasporic histories. The exhibition emphasises painterly craft and the tensions between representation and abstraction.
