Magico celebrates thirty years of performance in an anniversary show that blends illusion, mentalism and humour. Through an interactive best-of, the audience chooses the acts retracing his artistic journey, from mind‑reading and card routines to large-scale illusions and improvised sketches. The staging favors close contact, playful interaction and sudden moments of astonishment, combining precise sleight-of-hand with warm comic timing to create an intimate, wonder-filled evening.

Yalla Miku blends Ethiopian krar tradition with a modified banjo, deep electric bass and experimental electronics to create a dialogue between the Horn of Africa and European experimental scenes. The ensemble’s music moves through trance, electronic pulses and suspended textures, with voices weaving in and out of dense sonic layers. Performers include Samuel Ades Tesfagergsh (krar, voice), Louise Knobil (electric bass, voice), Cyril Bondi (drums, percussion, voice), Emma Souharce (machines, synths, voice) and Cyril Yeterian (Ufo banjo, electric guitar, voice).
Three performers plunge into the ideas of Mark Fisher to question why imagining different futures has become so difficult. On stage, electronic music, rap, projected texts like slogans, militant karaoke and a miniature dancefloor collide. Each performer circulates with an alter ego — a kitsch, radical, excessive version of themselves — as identities slip, overlap and are improvised live. Directed by Aurélia Lüscher, Au Grand Passage stages a tender and questioning dialogue with her paternal grandmother and the spectral traces that linger among the living. Combining documentary inquiry and poetic dramaturgy, Lüscher conjures the voices of those who engage with the beyond amid a wax and mist décor that blurs visible and invisible. Drawing on readings like Magali Molinié and Vinciane Despret, the piece explores what cannot be resolved, using theatre’s spectral dimension to imagine passage between forms.

Performed and directed by Eve Aouizerate, this incisive solo creation blends autofiction and faux stand-up to turn fairy-tale promises into a sharp satire. Using humour and precise stagecraft, Aouizerate interrogates reactionary online imaginaries and the contemporary allure of tradwives, exposing tensions between domestic idealisation and feminist inheritance. The piece mixes intimate confession, comic timing and critical observation to probe identity, boredom and the pressures shaping women’s lives.

La Bâtie Festival celebrates its 50th edition from 25 August to 13 September 2026! Over three weeks, theatre, dance, concerts, performances, circus and parties will take over venues across Geneva and the region. This anniversary edition also introduces Le Béaba, a new open-air hub at the Musée Ariana, bringing together free events, performances and concerts in a lively, convivial setting.
