Following the avenging deity Heviosso, the egungun dances of Benin and the flight of spirits associated with zombi phenomena in Haiti, he examines rituals that position these entities as intermediaries between the living, the souls and the ancestors.

David Basler, editor and founder of a Swiss comics publishing house, recounts the origin and impact of his work bringing French-language bande dessinée to German-speaking Switzerland. Marked by a 1978 encounter with Gérald Poussin, Basler published the first title Zig Zag Zoug in 1981 and went on to release over 400 volumes, including works by Jacques Tardi and Marjane Satrapi. This lecture examines editorial strategy, cultural translation, and the challenges of publishing comics in a different linguistic area.
