Hyacinthe Ravet, professor of sociomusicology at Sorbonne University’s Faculty of Letters and researcher at the Institut de Recherche en Musicologie, presents “What Is an Orchestra? Sociomusicological Enquiries.” Drawing on thirty years of field research inside orchestras, she examines individual career paths, the processes that produce collective cohesion, and the identity of the ensemble. The lecture offers analytical perspectives on authority, collaboration and musical practice within orchestral life.

Breathing Lake Geneva into Song

Anna Desraux (actress–musician), Jeanne Mermet (engineer–musician) and Gabriel Cotte (limnologist and science communicator) combine performance, technical practice and aquatic science to guide participants.
