Témoign’ages – Participatory Dance Project

Contemporary dance company Cie C2C invites racialized women* aged 18 and over to a series of participatory workshops exploring the theme of body-history. Led by Karin Rose, a company dancer, the sessions provide a reflective space for embodied exploration, collective sharing and creative practice around bodily memory and inherited narratives. Participants draw on diverse cultural movement traditions and artistic practices to investigate how personal and collective histories shape the body and expression.

This interactive memory challenge invites participants to test their memory while exploring practical ways to preserve biodiversity based on Geneva’s municipal strategy. Players match “before-and-after” images that illustrate individual and institutional actions, and each correct pair reveals concise information explaining the measure. The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.

Thursday 13 August, 18:30

This class blends dynamic yoga practices with functional conditioning, emphasizing breath, alignment and mobility. Participants work through flowing sequences and targeted strength exercises to improve posture, flexibility and core stability. The session examines movement principles and sequencing strategies that support sustainable progress and injury prevention. It is preceded by a short presentation of an artwork, offering a cultural frame for embodied practice.

Saturday 15 August, 10:00

An intensive workshop exploring the craft of comedic writing, focusing on voice, timing and comic structure. Participants analyse humorous texts, practise joke construction and develop short pieces with guided feedback. Practical exercises emphasise observation, rhythm, word choice and narrative surprise, and include iterative drafting to sharpen comedic effect. The programme highlights techniques for performance and written formats, encouraging revision, peer critique and strategies for sustaining a distinctive comic voice.

Sunday 16 August, 10:00

An interactive workshop that brings people together to prepare tamales collaboratively, exploring cooking as a space of oral transmission and collective practice. Participants will share techniques, stories and memories while learning the hands-on process of preparing and wrapping tamales and related regional variants. The session examines how recipes transform through migration and considers communal systems like the milpa—shared cultivation of maize, beans and squash—to reflect on food, identity and cultural memory.

28 June – 30 August

Stéphane Ducret, artist, leads hands-on workshops inspired by various renowned contemporary artists (painters), focusing on figurative or abstract painting, depending on the theme of the day’s workshop. The foundation is self-expression: opening oneself up to experimentation, even without (thinking one knows how to) draw. Participants also explore composition, the layering of colors, and the application of paint—whether acrylic or oil—on primed canvas.
