Dégueu

FURTHER AFIELD

Directed collectively under Antoine Courvoisier, Dégueu confronts young people’s questions about love, the body and reproduction with wit, candour and warmth. The youthful ensemble — Delphine Barut, Antoine Courvoisier, Angelo Dell’Aquila, Clea Eden and Charlotte Filou — blends humour and honesty to turn awkward curiosity into theatrical fuel. Cornélius Spaeter’s scenography, Éléonore Cassaigneau’s costumes and the lights by Gaël Chapuis support a lively staging. Presented by Cie Mokett in coproduction with Théâtre Am Stram Gram.

For his final production as a theatre director, Jean Liermier revisits Tennessee Williams’s autobiographical classic about memory, longing and family. Set in the 1930s American South, the staging gathers a company around Laura, here embodied by Aurélia Thierrée, with Cyprien Colombo, David Gobet and Clotilde Mollet completing the ensemble. Liermier’s direction emphasises fragile interiors and poetic movement, offering a liberating, weightless atmosphere that balances tenderness and uneasy nostalgia.

Ce qui nous traverse, choreographed by Nawal Aït Benalla and co-directed with Abou Lagraa, is a visceral dance piece by Compagnie La Baraka that probes the body in an age of technology. Dancers Elie Fico, Alba Fracchia, Marion Frappat, Alfredo Gottardi and Rachele Pinzan navigate rhythmic patterns, tensions between constraint and freedom, isolation and encounter, and the shifting boundaries of embodiment. Olivier Innocenti’s compositions and Laïs Foulc’s lighting frame a powerful, poetic investigation of collective and intimate corporeality.

The Icelandic quartet ADHD presents their tenth album, ADHD 10, continuing an exploration between jazz, ambient, rock and folk. Simon Frith describes it as “a desolate quietude… Nordic, neither urban jazz nor rural folk.” Their immersive, sensory sound transcends genres, offering an intense concert blending new material with signature pieces. The group—Óskar Guðjónsson (saxophones), Ómar Guðjónsson (guitar, pedal steel, bass), Tómas Jónsson (piano, keyboards) and Magnús Trygvason Eliassen (drums)—creates spacious, contemplative textures that evolve into powerful, lyrical climaxes.

Amor follows a forty‑something couple, attached yet weary from routine, confronting unspoken truths and the pull toward emancipation. This intimate, humanist theatre piece probes love’s contradictions—between inherited models and contemporary norms—through subtle staging and concentrated performances. Marjolaine Minot and Guillaume Prin embody the emotional shifts with delicate nuance, drawing the audience into a relational interior where choices, desire and restraint collide.
