New choreographic creation by (LA)HORDE for the Ballet national de Marseille, Après Moi, le Déluge plunges into a critical moment of upheaval, oscillating between apprehension and the hope of a possible future. Twelve performers move within a monumental, evolving scenography while Pierre Aviat’s original score and the external perspective of Alain Damasio shape a tense, poetic atmosphere. The piece explores collective fragility, resilience and the choreography of transition.
Directed by Jean Bellorini in collaboration with Yang Hua Theatre, this staging reimagines Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Le Petit Prince with the title character portrayed by a Chinese actor. The production blends French and Mandarin dialogue with live music by singers from China’s independent scene. Actors François Deblock and Marc Plas perform alongside a cast that shifts between a childlike prince, an ancient reciter of poems and fantastical cosmic inhabitants. To mark the Concours de Genève’s 80th edition, this opening concert brings together pianist Kevin Chen and cellist Michiaki Ueno, both former first-prize winners of the competition. The piece favors intimate, physical staging and concentrated dramaturgy, inviting viewers into an embodied investigation of identity, inherited narratives and resilience. Rawness and poetic movement alternate, producing a dense emotional atmosphere that lingers beyond the performance.
Conceived as a dialogue between historical research and live performance, this second edition of Les Encyclopédiennes explores bel canto and the first currents of Italian Romanticism. Musicians from L’Encyclopédie shape a refined programme that moves from lecture and vocal reflection to concert performance, with Bénédicte Tauran in the workshop and young talents from the HEM in the Ex-Libris concert. The atmosphere is intimate, lyrical, and intellectually charged.
