Performed by Cédric Salaun, this solo show mixes autobiographical monologue, traditional Breton dance and playful intellectual curiosity. Conductor Daniele Gatti leads a program of Beethoven’s Symphonies Nos. 1, 4 and 5, tracing the composer’s journey from Classical roots to a daring, individual voice. Symphony No. 1 reflects Haydn and Mozart’s clarity while hinting at Beethoven’s temperamental drive. The luminous No. 4 unfolds singular inventiveness and elegance; the No. 5 embodies struggle and triumphant affirmation. The performance emphasises orchestral textures, dramatic contrasts and rhythmic propulsion, immersing listeners in the boldness, creativity and elemental power of Beethoven’s sound world.
Choreographed by Soraya Leila Emery, Coming Soon reimagines Ingres’s La Grande Odalisque through a playful, subversive lens. A single performer shifts between tableaux—seductive, mischievous, defiant—using grotesque exaggeration and theatrical excess to unsettle the orientalist gaze. Sparse objects, bold gestures and a keen sense of timing create alternating moments of intimacy and farce, opening space for new narratives of desire and agency. Created in collaboration with Emergentia and local partners, the work feels simultaneously imminent and elusive.
Directed by Jean Bellorini in collaboration with Yang Hua Theatre, this staging reimagines Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Le Petit Prince with the title character portrayed by a Chinese actor. The production blends French and Mandarin dialogue with live music by singers from China’s independent scene. Actors François Deblock and Marc Plas perform alongside a cast that shifts between a childlike prince, an ancient reciter of poems and fantastical cosmic inhabitants. The staging mixes song, poetry and intimate theatricality, exploring friendship and human connection.
