Douglas Kennedy, born in New York in 1955, is an acclaimed novelist who lives between the United States, Berlin and France. His works include L’homme qui voulait vivre sa vie and La Symphonie du hasard.
He presents the long-awaited sequel to the novel that made him famous, a tense story set in the vast Montana landscapes. The narrative examines identity, paternal abandonment and the resurfacing of secrets as a father confronts the consequences of choices made thirty years earlier.

This workshop explores the traditional process of assembling a herbarium specimen, inspired by Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s collections. This interactive memory challenge invites participants to test their memory while exploring practical ways to preserve biodiversity based on Geneva’s municipal strategy. Players match “before-and-after” images that illustrate individual and institutional actions, and each correct pair reveals concise information explaining the measure. The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.
Organised by the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Bibliopéra presents a series of workshop-lectures that invite close listening and critical reflection on the operatic repertoire. Each session, led by artists and specialists (pianist, singer, musicologists), explores a focused theme or work: discovery of bel canto and Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri; an exploration of baroque repertoire (Castor & Pollux); a creative writing workshop inspired by L’Empereur Atlantis; and a critical discussion of Puccini’s Madame Butterfly. The format mixes performance, analysis and hands-on activity to deepen understanding of style, history and interpretation.

Bruno Marchand, professor emeritus at EPFL, leads this five-part lecture series designed for newcomers to architectural history. He brings his academic experience to introduce key figures and approaches in Geneva’s twentieth-century modernity.
