The Woodgies

Booking Required

Sisters Hannah Leah and Meghan Woodger weave luminous vocal harmonies and intimate guitar textures in an indie-pop folk repertoire. Rooted in Simon & Garfunkel–style folk-pop, their songs balance vibrant passion and gentle nostalgia, conjuring windswept cliffs and misted Irish landscapes. Their interplay of guitar, Dobro and close harmony shapes moments of stillness and swell, where purity of tone meets aching memory. Presented within the Printemps Carougeois programme, the duo offers a quietly powerful, contemplative musical journey.

23 – 26 April

Un petit meurtre sans conséquence examines the corrosive dynamics of a partnership through savage wit and dark comic timing. This staging sharpens the play’s satire, exposing the small betrayals and escalating cowardice that undercut intimacy. Sparse sets and stark lighting heighten the moral claustrophobia, while conversational dialogue pivots between warmth and menace. The result is a tense, mordant portrait of complicity and self-preservation, balancing laughter with a chill of recognition.

Presented by the Association des Concerts des dimanches, Trio la Versoix brings together William Michel, Juliette Giovacchini and Gabrielle Richardson Vasques. Hailing from different corners of the world, the three string players met on the shores of Lake Geneva, their collaboration mirroring the Versoix river’s flow: a dialogue of fluidity and exchange. The programme juxtaposes Smetana’s Trio in G minor with Paul Schoenfield’s Café Music, weaving Romantic density and contemporary wit into an intimate chamber experience.

The Sunday Concerts at Victoria Hall feature “Coro” by Lucian Berio, performed by the students of the HEM, the Ensemble Contrechamps, and the Zürcher Sing-Akademie choir under the baton of Emilio Pomarico. This monumental work for 40 voices and orchestra redefines the orchestral setup and serves as both a political and musical manifesto, weaving together folk songs and poetic texts.

23 April – 3 May

Madame Butterfly, an opera by Giacomo Puccini with a libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, returns to the Grand Théâtre de Genève in a fresh production.  The opera tells the heartrending story of Cio-Cio-San, a geisha who sacrifices everything for her love for an American sailor. Directed by Barbora Horáková and featuring video art by Diana Markosian, this production weaves an intergenerational and intercontinental narrative, exploring themes of tradition and personal expectations. With Corinne Winters as the lead and Stephen Costello as Pinkerton, attendees can expect a remarkable performance, all under the musical direction of Antonino Fogliani.

About the play
1942. France is under occupation. Seven friends gather to celebrate Sophie’s birthday—until two German officers are shot beneath their windows. Kaubach, a Nazi commander, forces the guests to make an unthinkable choice: to designate two hostages among themselves.
Thus begins a harrowing struggle for survival. By confronting the depths of human nature, the play invites us to question which side we would have chosen.
