Portrait is a creation by Alexandre Simon and Cosima Weiter that delves into the city through the lens of its diverse inhabitants. Combining text, acting, film sequences, and music, “Portrait” unveils a multicultural and unique Geneva. Pierre Maillet brings to life the testimonies collected by Cosima Weiter, supported by a trio of musicians under the direction of Vincent Bertholet. Performed by Édouard Louis and directed by Thomas Ostermeier, this terse, unflinching monologue examines the premature exhaustion of a father’s body and traces the social forces that shaped it. A sequence of fragments alternates indignation, vengeance and abiding tenderness. Nina Wetzel’s scenography, Caroline Tavernier’s costumes and Erich Schneider’s lighting frame a stark, intimate staging, while Sylvain Jacques’ music and the dramaturgy of Florian Borchmeyer and Élisa Leroy shape its rhythm.

Françoise Boillat brings Antigone to life in an outdoor performance set against the backdrop of seven “remarkable trees” each month. This unique production weaves Antigone’s defiance of political authority with her devotion to the gods. The ancient trees stand as silent witnesses to the enduring human struggles between law, nature, and freedom.

Created by Collectif Humagine, La baleine 52 hertz examines autism and neurodivergent thought through intimate theatrical language. Written and performed by Valentina Luporini and Cédric Schaerer, the piece pairs Luporini’s dramaturgical voice with Schaerer’s multi-instrumental practice to shape its soundscape. The company, founded in 2023, draws artists from theatre, circus and music to explore compensation mechanisms, learning processes, emotional load and the distinct languages of autism, with a focused attention on feminine expressions often underdiagnosed.

Leonardo García Alarcón and his Cappella Mediterranea, in collaboration with the GTG Ballet, present the opera-dance Castor & Pollux by Jean-Philippe Rameau. Rarely performed in its 1737 version, the work delves into themes of brotherly love and sacrifice amidst a war between two peoples. The show features renowned baroque artists, including performances by Reinoud van Mechelen and Andreas Wolf. Dance is woven into the core of the dramaturgy, highlighting the emotional and musical depth of Rameau’s composition.

Performed by Camélia Acef and Youri Rebeko, La tête ailleurs is a light, comic musical about Norah, who can’t help hearing songs in her head whenever she tries to concentrate. The piece slides between Broadway-classic, funk, pop and tango, treating the intrusive melodies as a playful yet unsettling manifestation of the unconscious. The staging balances energetic numbers and intimate moments, probing memory and identity. The show was nominated at the 2025 Trophées de la Comédie Musicale (Best Book; Revelation Masculine for Youri Rebeko).
