Collectif Détente presents works that treat fabric and clothing as spectral carriers of memory. Through textile-based installations, sculptural garments, assemblage and a filmic element, artists including Ryan Gander, Meret Oppenheim and others probe domestic hauntings, hidden inheritance and collective fears. The show stages fragile, unsettling presences that revive interrupted stories and private traces, using material tactility and suspended forms to reveal how ordinary objects and living spaces keep visible and invisible histories in uneasy coexistence.

The International Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent presents the first European solo exhibition of Guatemalan Maya Kaqchikel artist Angélica Serech (*1982). Pach’un Q’ijul (Temps entrelacés – Deep Time) intertwines ancestral weaving gestures with personal and collective memory, drawing on Serech’s history shaped by Guatemala’s civil war. Using self-built looms and natural materials like corn husks and branches, her works explore resilience, repair, and the deep ties between textile traditions and humanitarian action.

This exhibition celebrates the artistry of Michel Mottier, a craftsman from the Pays-d’Enhaut who carves each wooden cream spoon with patience and precision. Discover around a hundred unique handcrafted spoons, each reflecting his remarkable skill and dedication to this singular passion.

Art Genève assembles galleries, institutions and numerous contemporary artists across painting, sculpture, video, digital practices and sound installations. The fair juxtaposes intimate booth presentations with large-scale and commissioned works, exploring questions of authorship, authenticity and institutional networks.
Dedicated sections for experimental formats and music foreground immersive, sonic and monumental pieces, while publishing projects and prizes highlight emerging practices. The presentation examines how contemporary art circulates, engages publics and reframes cultural exchange.

Ghislaine Heger presents a photographic series of portraits that foreground 101 women from French-speaking Switzerland and their experiences of ageing and gray hair. Combining portrait photography with each subject’s own testimony, the work examines social expectations, gendered scrutiny and the intimate moments that surround a visible change.
The exhibition evokes questions of identity, dignity and resilience, offering nuanced, gentle accounts that reveal how personal histories intersect with broader cultural attitudes toward ageing.

As part of Art Genève/Art Talks, Mai-Thu Perret (artist), Théo Casciani (writer), and Clément Dirié (Editorial Director, JRP|Editions) join Christian Herren (curator, editor of the E.A.T. Index) for a conversation marking the release of three new publications: the E.A.T. Index (JRP|Editions), mapping fifteen years of conversations across art, architecture, and science; Mai-Thu Perret’s monograph Grammar & Glamour (JRP|Editions); and Théo Casciani’s novel Insula (P.O.L). The discussion delves into contemporary approaches to bookmaking, exploring archival materials, imagery, narrative, and editorial structures.
