Stitches: A Haunted House and Other Ghost Stories

Collectif Détente presents works that treat fabric and clothing as spectral carriers of memory. Through textile-based installations, sculptural garments, assemblage and a filmic element, artists including Ryan Gander, Meret Oppenheim and others probe domestic hauntings, hidden inheritance and collective fears. The show stages fragile, unsettling presences that revive interrupted stories and private traces, using material tactility and suspended forms to reveal how ordinary objects and living spaces keep visible and invisible histories in uneasy coexistence.

Featuring over three hundred ceramic and glass buttons, the exhibition interacts with the museum’s works to highlight their role in both formal experimentation and socio-cultural narratives. The exhibition’s architecture evokes the commercial arcades of the 19th century, a pivotal era for button industrialization. Curated by Claire FitzGerald, the exhibition is supported by the Swiss Fashion Museum and showcases never-before-seen pieces from several prestigious collections.

London-based artist Konstantina Krikzoni presents a body of paintings born from an intense solitary studio practice. Her work blurs painting and sculpture: textured, tactile canvases where brushwork and sculptural modelling interweave. Silent yet confrontational female figures occupy compositions in grey and yellow, evoking funerary motifs and the logic of memory and grief. ARMATURA functions as metaphor and method — an internal armature of endurance that shapes emotion into form through material exploration and sustained process.
