The Kinora Sextet, an ensemble of six European musicians, crafts a unique soundscape that merges orchestral richness with improvisation and sound poetry inspired by colors. The project is born from the synesthesia of trumpeter and composer Sonja Ott, who experiences sounds as colors. Drawing inspiration from rare pigments and Stefan Muntwyler’s book “Das Farbenbuch,” she transforms these perceptions into musical sketches. The sextet features Sonja Ott on trumpet and compositions, Philipp Leibundgut on drums and compositions, Amalie Dahl on alto saxophone, Harben Kay on tenor saxophone, François Lana on piano, and Rafael Jerjen on double bass.
