Journey to the Land of Spices

As part of the Green Workshops at Geneva’s Botanical Garden, children are invited to explore the oldest greenhouse in the Winter Garden, engaging all their senses. On Wednesday afternoons, they will discover various spices like cinnamon and vanilla through thematic investigations, sensory experiences, and botanical explorations. These activities are led by garden mediators, gardeners, and scientists, in collaboration with Uni3 volunteers from Geneva’s Senior University.

The ASL is marking its 45th anniversary with the immersive exhibition “Léman, l’éveil d’un peuple” (Léman, the Awakening of a People). The GPHG exhibition showcases 90 timepieces shortlisted by the Academy, accompanied by creations from students of watch design and interior architecture at HEAD – Geneva. Visitors can enjoy guided tours led by a watchmaking expert and participate in introductory watchmaking workshops. Children can engage in activities such as engraving and constructing sundials. Additionally, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie offers a lecture on iconic watches.

17 March 2025 – 1 September 2026

The Biopark is temporarily hosting Janus, a unique two-headed Greek tortoise, during the renovation of the Museum. Each head of this male tortoise has its own independent brain, which sometimes makes its movements challenging. In captivity, Janus receives attentive care, resulting in an impressive lifespan of 26 years.

Relaxed film screenings are being offered for audiences of all ages. The animated film “The Secret of the Perlims,” directed by Alê Abreu, tells the story of two agents, Claé and Bruô, on a mission to save the Magic Forest, promoting dialogue, respect, and environmental protection. This 70-minute screening is free and open to everyone aged six and up, without the need for a reservation. Attendees have the freedom to react as they wish, come and go during the viewing, with on-site assistance available.

For this third edition, the Domaine de Penthes invites you to dive into a magical world over a weekend, filled with enchanting lights, mesmerizing decor, and unforgettable moments. “Les Féeries de Penthes” features charming chalets where local artisans display their creations, enchanting concerts, and captivating activities suitable for the whole family, all set against a backdrop of twinkling lights. Enjoy storytelling and legends, artistic animations, creative workshops for kids, a gourmet and artisanal market, and encounters with fantastical characters. It’s a magical experience to share and savor during the festive season.

Storyteller Deirdre Foster invites children on a cozy time-traveling adventure at the Carouge Library. Young ones can enjoy bedtime tales while in their pajamas, cuddling their favorite toys, right before heading home for sleep.
