Organised by the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Bibliopéra presents a series of workshop-lectures that invite close listening and critical reflection on the operatic repertoire. Each session, led by artists and specialists (pianist, singer, musicologists), explores a focused theme or work: discovery of bel canto and Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri; an exploration of baroque repertoire (Castor & Pollux); a creative writing workshop inspired by L’Empereur Atlantis; and a critical discussion of Puccini’s Madame Butterfly. The format mixes performance, analysis and hands-on activity to deepen understanding of style, history and interpretation.

Éric Reinhardt, born in 1965, is a novelist, playwright and art editor whose fiction examines human relationships and contemporary society. In conversation with Manuel Carcassonne, general director of éditions Stock, Reinhardt discusses his latest book L’imparfait (Stock, 2026), based on a night at Rome’s Galleria Borghese, and reflects on memory, intimacy and the ethical stakes of storytelling. The interview investigates how personal experience intersects with broader social and economic realities.

This symposium examines the educational role of scientific instruments within library collections, exploring historical, scientific and heritage perspectives. Speakers will investigate links between book knowledge and material culture, reveal thematic continuities across periods, and discuss implications for scholarship, conservation and museum-librarian collaborations.
