The series addresses the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition in Switzerland and Europe, where policies aim to reduce reliance on fossil and nuclear energy while increasing renewable sources. The Geneva Seminar 2025, hosted by the Braillard Architects Foundation during Climate Week, delves into the concept of a climate-responsive city and ecological density to build a more resilient Geneva. The Geneva Debate Club, founded in 2022 as an English-language branch of the Club Genevois de Débat, meets every Thursday evening to provide a structured platform for practicing eloquence and critical thinking. Participants propose diverse topics, are randomly assigned pro or con positions, and engage in timed debates with interactive questioning periods.

With no participation obligation—observers welcome—evenings conclude with voting for the most convincing team and best speaker, followed by friendly bar discussions, creating an inclusive environment for developing debate skills in English.

Using Khalil Berro’s art, including works like Toxic Inaction and BREATHE, as case studies, the discussion highlights how art can evoke emotions and inspire ecological engagement. Brosch, who leads the sustainable decision-making and behavior lab, investigates the emotional and cognitive processes that promote more sustainable societies.

Immerse yourself in the world of illustrated storytelling during the Les Créatives festival at the Cité Library with “De Bois et d’Os.” This lecture brings together the poetry of a screenwriter and live drawing by an illustrator to animate the story of the Penan nomads of Borneo. Through hunting scenes and their resistance against logging companies, the narrative pays tribute to their dedication to Indigenous issues. Following the performance, a discussion will delve into the making of this graphic novel, highlighting respect for Penan culture. The event is presented in partnership with the municipal libraries of Geneva.

The Festival Les Créatives, a multidisciplinary event in Geneva, highlights the artistic and intellectual works of women and gender minorities. The 21st edition features concerts, theater, exhibitions, and discussions on topics such as chosen families and friendships. Notable participants include Hélène Giannecchini, Sophie Lewis, and Chloé Delaume. The festival reaffirms its commitment to combatting gender-based violence, working with the Canton and City of Geneva on local awareness campaigns.
