Composed by Louis Crelier with a libretto by Valérie Letellier, Requiem ad Pacem is presented as a newly created oratorio led by conductor Antoine Marguier. The Orchestre des Nations joins Chœur Lyrica-Opéra and Chœur Pro-Arte de Lausanne, with Michel Voïta as récitant, to shape a ritual soundscape that balances solemn choral writing and intimate solo passages. The work meditates on mourning and the search for reconciliation, enveloping audiences in dense harmonies and austere, luminous textures.
Retsina Cola channels the raw intimacy of rebetiko, a Greek urban music born from Asia Minor exile. The young quartet, composed of Alexios Koutsourelis (bouzouki and vocals), Giorgos Goudousakis (guitar and vocals), Melina Vasiliki Paraskevopoulou (percussion and vocals) and Ioannis Christakopoulos (accordion and vocals), blends plaintive melodies, driving rhythms and close vocal interplay. Their repertoire navigates longing, thwarted love and social struggle, stirred by oriental spices and smoky textures that evoke tavern nights and collective memory.
Veteran noise outfit Ramleh deliver an electric, rock-tinged set led by Gary Mundy on guitar, Stuart Dennison on drums, Anthony Di Franco on electric bass and Kevin Laska on synth. Their charged, abrasive sound blends distorted guitar, dense percussion and swirling electronics into a confrontational live experience. The evening continues with record selections by La Poya and Fuxy Lady, extending the event’s raw, underground energy.
Frank Martin’s opera La Tempête, after Shakespeare with a libretto by August Wilhelm von Schlegel and Johann Ludwig Tieck, returns in a new French-language production. Conductor Thierry Fischer leads the score while director Netia Jones stages a striking conception that makes electricity the source of Prospero’s powers. The cast brings poetic intensity to the island’s drama—Miranda, Caliban and the spirit Ariel—blending vocal nuance, atmospheric design and inventive staging to revisit exile, magic and reconciliation.
