Eugène Ionesco’s “The Bald Soprano” is a quintessential work of absurdist theater, depicting the nonsensical and tedious interactions between two couples, the Smiths and the Martins. For its 4th edition, the event offers a festive atmosphere where emerging artists and established DJs share the stage, inviting audiences to celebrate music and togetherness in full swing.

In “L’Aquarium,” Calaferte delves into the monotony and routine of a couple after many years together. Set during a fall evening, this comedy highlights how former passionate partners become unable to surprise each other, trapped in their daily lives much like fish swimming in circles in an aquarium. The humor emerges from everyday situations, skillfully captured by the author.

A poetic and intimate performance that moves away from traditional circus spectacles focused on acrobatics. Blending elements of commedia dell’arte with the absurdity of Waiting for Godot, the show follows father and son, Danny and Pepijn, as they navigate memory, absence, and connection. Rich in music, clowning, and humor, the piece creates moments of grace and sensitivity, reflecting on tradition, relationships, and the world around them.

The Ensemble Les Illuminations continues its commitment to contemporary women composers with their concert Vera Vita Viva. Featuring a new work by Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber for five instruments, the piece weaves together baroque timbres and contemporary colors, sacred and profane, tracing a musical thread from Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre to Kaija Saariaho, Ethel Smyth, and Sofia Goubaïdoulina, where memory and invention engage in a continuous dialogue.
