Choreographer Soa Ratsifandrihana brings together four performers with diasporic roots to explore themes of identity, connection, and individuality through dance and song. Titled Fampitaha, fampita, fampitàna (Malagasy for comparison, transmission, rivalry), the piece celebrates shared cultural expression. It is accompanied by the podcast Rouge cratère, a personal and political reflection on Madagascar, colonization, and the embodied experience of diaspora.

Written “à plat tôt” by three clowns unaware of their own kinship, it’s a three-voiced chant to tame their demons – and perhaps yours, the one that slowly creeps in and gnaws from the inside.

The Ensemble Les Illuminations continues its commitment to contemporary women composers with their concert Vera Vita Viva. Featuring a new work by Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber for five instruments, the piece weaves together baroque timbres and contemporary colors, sacred and profane, tracing a musical thread from Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre to Kaija Saariaho, Ethel Smyth, and Sofia Goubaïdoulina, where memory and invention engage in a continuous dialogue.

“Master Class” takes us back to 1971, where Maria Callas shares her vocal insights and artistic ideals at the Juilliard School. Adapted by Pierre Laville and directed by Michel Favre, the play highlights the unwavering dedication and passion required to master the art of singing. Maria Mettral brings the legendary diva to life with remarkable depth and intensity, supported by Lorianne Cherpillod, Sarah Pagin, Erwan Fosset, and Nicolas Le Roy on piano.

25 September – 12 October

Written by Elisa Shua Dusapin and directed by Ludovic Chazaud, Le vieil incendie delicately explores the fragile bond between two sisters separated by time, silence, and absence. Fifteen years after their estrangement, they reunite in the family home destined for demolition, where childhood memories and buried wounds resurface. Blending words, gestures, and silence, this poetic and sensory play reveals what still connects us — to loved ones, to places, and to shared memory.
