This performance, woven with humor and emotion, blends myths, mythical creatures, magical rainbows, and bird quarrels, all set within the exhibition “ELLES. Contemporary Australian Indigenous Women Artists.” Presented by storyteller Patrick Caudal, the event is part of the “La Cour des Contes” Festival.

Dash through winding alleys on a chocolate rescue mission with Pak’alapin. Search for hidden Pak’Potes and magic eggs tucked into shop windows, follow clues in your game booklet, and collect sweet surprises. Dress up and become a little detective, spotting bright colors, curious sounds, and secret signs. The trail mixes playful puzzles, movement, and tasting treats, ending with a friendly meeting with Pak’alapin and plenty of chocolate.

Through a curatorial guided tour of the permanent collection, the event examines the cultural lives of toys — from irreplaceable stuffed animals and devotional figures to crafted playthings of value.
Focusing on selected objects, the tour considers how toys embody affection, memory and social roles across time and cultures.
It explores rituals of care and mourning, the imaginative life owners project onto objects, and the symbolic meanings that transform everyday playthings into traces of personal and collective history.

Discover a lively weekend of storytelling, hands-on creativity and playful discovery across Geneva’s public libraries and partner institutions. Families will find musical readings, creative workshops, participatory animations, book-based games, treasure hunts, toy-making ateliers, guided visits, film screenings and a varied youth programme. Children can explore sounds, colours and movement, make things with their hands and spark their imagination through shared stories and playful activities designed to inspire curiosity and creativity.

La Cour des Contes is a storytelling festival held each spring in Plan-les-Ouates (Geneva), celebrating oral narration as a vital force for social connection and cultural dialogue. Since 1995, the festival has brought together storytellers from across the world, and the 2026 edition invites audiences to journey through epics and great narratives spanning continents and centuries — from Ireland, Mali, Algeria and Australia to closer shores. Blending classic tales with contemporary voices, performances, family shows and workshops, the festival affirms storytelling as a shared, intimate and deeply human art form.
